“Ask the Expert”
Just as fingerprints are unique, each person’s handwriting has specific features that make it identifiable when examined forensically. Innocent individuals become victims when someone maliciously forges their signatures, disguises their own handwriting, or makes significant changes to entire documents. When suspicious handwritten letters or graffiti show up and the recipient wants to find out and prove who wrote it, forensic examinations can help.
If you are feeling confused and/or curious, and need to find out who wrote (or didn’t write) something, you need the services of a court-qualified and board-certified document examiner who can help right away. There are proper lab tests and standardized procedures that a forensic professional must undertake to arrive at a reliable opinion. This is not a job for amateurs!

My specialty is in using forensics to help you resolve the situation. This may bring things to a conclusion which, ideally, could also give you some closure and a sense of relief.
Here are some examples of scenarios that clients have brought me over the last 20 years:
- Someone is claiming you have signed or written something and you know you did not.
- You think you know who maliciously or wrongfully wrote something and you need proof to validate your claim.
- A signature or handwriting on an important document just doesn’t look right to you.
- You have a piece of artwork or historical memorabilia and you would like to know if it is real, fake, or a reproduction.
- You are in the middle of a dispute and a document or handwriting has surfaced and you need a professional opinion to evaluate it as evidence.
